its a game where there are no correct answers, just different ways to be told you are invalid, wrong, and should be ashamed. thats a shitty game to force people to play

I have a lot of respect for this campaign, because I know how difficult it is to produce a decent concept in pharmaceutical advertising. In Canada, you’re not allowed to tell consumers the name of your product if you’re also describing the medical condition the drug is supposed to treat. (Those famous Viagra campaigns succeeded because everyone already knew what the drug was for.) 

Since this brand can’t be named, the ads have to pretend to be authored by someone else. In this case, the entity is nailfungus.ca, whose faux public service page urges us to see our doctors about the dangers that lurk just beneath our socks. At no point is the true identity of the advertiser revealed. Their hope is that we will make a doctor’s appointment, and that the advertiser’s brand will be the one the doctor chooses to prescribe.

You’ll note that these ads don’t make any promises about the drug’s effectiveness. In Canada, the regulations around pharma advertising make that just about impossible. That’s why the agency had to confine itself to saying that toenail fungus is a problem that shouldn’t be ignored. In my opinion, they’ve done that really, really well.
